Not the last Cut!

I have two olders sisters that I love very, very much and would do anything for them! We fight, we love, and we laugh! Most of all we are always there for each other through the tough times and the best of times!

Courtney, Jennifer and I

For those who may not know already my sister Jennifer was diagnosed at 16months with something called Alopecia Areata! If you never heard of Alopecia it, "is a type of hair loss that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, which is where hair growth begins.(webmd)" Which means, your immune system kills the hair off, like it is a virus.  My sister was very lucky that her hair started growing again when she was the age of 5!  When my sister was in middle school she started to lose patches of hair. My parents then started treatment for her by doing Steroid injections to help the hair grow back in the places she had lost hair. Her hair continued to have patches but they were getting bigger, so she then made the decision in 2006 to stop the steroid injections. A year later in August 2007, she made the decision to shave the rest of her hair off and be proud of her bald head!

June 16th, 2008, I decided to cut my hair for the first time to donate to Locks of Love! I was going to shave my head at the same time Jennifer did, but she had told me to keep it! I then decided to let my hair grow longer so I could then donate it!

I donated 10inches

3 years later, on July 2nd, 2011, I decided to donate my hair! This time I donated more hair!
Pictured here is 4 locks of hair! 13 inches

My new Look!

5 reasons why you should donate your Hair:

1. your hair will grow back,
2. you will make someone very happy
3. if you are looking for a new hair do and you have 10 -12 inches of hair that you want gone!
4. you will have shorter showers
5. your hair will be easier to take care of

When I got my hair cut for the 2nd time, there was another gal in the salon getting a trim! Her hair was as long as mine was and her jaw dropped when she noticed I was cutting my hair off! It was the best feeling ever! I knew that I was mentally ready for this hair cut and I knew that my hair will go to someone who really needs it more then I did!
She on the other hand was very attached to her hair and had told me that I am very brave!
I told her not brave just want to make someone smile!

Love and respect everything about yourself and know that you are beautiful the way God made you!
