Snow Day!

We finally made it to the snow this year! The weather was cool enough last week, so we decided to go to the snow on Sunday, Feb 19th.  I am so glad we decided to go sledding with the boys because today it was 88 degrees! That may have been our last chance to go because spring is right around the corner! Lucas has always enjoyed the snow, but not Ryker! But this time Ryker had so much fun! Lucas and Ryker even went sledding together! We even had a huge snow ball fight! I had lost that battle! But it was so worth it! I love family time with my Michael and our boys!

Video of Lucas and Ryker sledding together!

Making snowballs!

he loved it when we threw snow balls at him!
He thought it was so funny!
Just not in his face!

This would have to be my favorite trip to the snow thus far! We were all laughing, and having fun!  I am looking forward to our next family adventure! Enjoy the video's I posted!

Nature walk!

I started to do nature walks with Lucas since he was 2! Now both Lucas and Ryker love Nature Walks! On these walks, we explore and collect! The collecting part is the fun part because it gives our boys a chance to use their imaginations! Lucas of course has a bigger imagination the Ryker. It is so much fun to see the both of them picking up everything, like rocks, stick, leaves, berries, flowers, pinecones, and sometimes snails! We recently went on a walk with our neighbor Alyssa, she is 12 now.  She loves the nature walks just as much as our boys do! She definitely makes Lucas go beyond his imagination! She is a very talented singer, smart and creative young lady! We collected a lot of pinecones and Rocks! After our Nature walk we started to work on our craft project!  Alyssa decided to make a panda bear out of a pincone! Super cute!
Lucas decided to make a frog paper weight! (of course with Alyssa's help and Mine)

Lucas painted his frog and put glitter on his frog! He then glued on all of the pieces! We just helped him with the placements!

If you can't think of anything to do with your kids, a nature walk is the way to go! Its fun, makes your kids use their imagination and it takes a lot of their energy away, great if they still take naps! Ryker didn't end up making anything because he fell asleep on the couch!

Valentine's Day Love!

The morning of Valentine's Day I was woken up to hugs and kisses from my two sweet boys! We then all headed down stairs to find a Vase Filled with Beautiful Pink Roses from my husband! And that's not all, he even went to the grocery store for me! What more could I have asked for!
The boys and I got Michael a new tie for work! Lucas was so excited to give it to Michael because he got to pick it out! And Michael loved it!

Lucas was extremely excited about his Valentine's Day party at school, but once we got to school, Lucas threw up in the school parking lot! I put Lucas back in the car and he said "mom, I promise I won't throw up again at school," while he said this he was crying with tears pouring out of his eyes! I then ended up dropping off Lucas' V-day cards, and cookies we made the night before! Then we headed home! I felt so bad, because I knew how excited he was about Valentine's Day! I got him an icee and he kept that down, luckily! He did good all day until around 6pm! He started to cry and the next thing I saw was him throwing up all over the hallway! I told him to run to the bathroom and he then threw up all over the toilet! Phew....Happy Valentine's indeed! Once he was done, he said "that's better."  Then he was fine! Not quite how he thought Valentines day would be like! But at the end of the day we watched all of his favorite movies, (Puss n Boots, Transformers, and Batman!) He was definitely one happy kid! I am hoping next year he will get to enjoy Valentine's Day!

Lucas decorated this in class!

Lucas came home from school on Feb 20th with all of his
Valentines!

Super excited!

Yummy!

Lucas even shared with Ryker!

Michael and I, celebrated Valentine's Day on, Feb 18th! We had won a raffle at Lucas' preschool for 2 hrs free of babysitting and a gift certificate for dinner! We were super excited, since our last night out with the kids was on New Year's Eve! We went to Ramonos for dinner! It was delicious and Romantic!
After dinner we headed to the Krikorean Theatres and watched, This Means War! We enjoyed the movie! We haven't watched a movie together without kids in a really long time!
After the movie we got dessert at Baskin Robins! I felt like a kid again! It brought back memories when we were just dating, with no responsibilities and worries!

We had a very eventful Valentine's Day, and look forward to next year! But Valentine's day is everyday to me because my boys and husband make me so happy!

Moments of Peace and quiet!

No one said being a parent was going to be easy but they did say "it's quite an adventure"!  So, I do my best to cherish every moment I have with my boys, including our dogs, the good and the bad! The Pictures below are shots of our boys sleeping! These moments are one of my favorite ones of all!

Movie Night Drive-In!

Lucas' preschool held a Drive in at school! They told us parents if we wanted we could help our kids make a car out of a card board box so they can sit in it while they watch their movie! I of course thought how fun it is going to be to make one! I have never made one before so I was excited to put my thoughts together of how we could go about making one! Luckily Lucas knew exactly what he wanted and that was to have a Transformer car/OptimusPrime car! I had know idea where to begin but as least Lucas was able to tell me what colors he wanted and design!
For starters you could follow these steps below that I found on Parenting.com. I used all of these steps to guide me through to build our car! First you will need to find a box, any size box that is big enough for your little person! I didn't have any duct tape but I did have painters tape! It worked just fine!

1. You start out with the box taped closed.

2.  Then cut a semi circle to make doors (for this step I chose not to have semi circles for doors. I decided once I got to the last step to have doors that opened because Lucas really wanted doors that opened and closed!)

3.  Then cut 2/3 of the top of the box, leaving it joined to the cars hood

4.  Then fold the cut top of the box to create a winsheild. Next, tape the top fold to its bottom half.
5.  Then cut out a windsheild.

This is what ours looked like after we followed the steps from parenting.com! It is a lot of work! Make sure you do this part when your little guys are asleep! I did this part at 10pm while the boys were already in bed!
The next day Lucas and I went to the store and bought some spray paint instead of paint because it would dry faster! We bought one can of blue paint and one can of red spray paint! Walmart sells them for $3.49 a can!

Lucas wanted flames on his car so I used left over cardboard we cut off the car and drew a flame on it and cut out the flame and used the stencil of the flame to spray paint it on the car after we spray painted it blue!

Lucas wanted the Transformer symbol on his car also. So I just drew it on the box with some black paint I had. Then I also added some yellow paint to highlight the flames and the Transformer symbol. I also outlined the car with some red paint to add more detail to the car! Now you can see how I cut out the door of the car!

Then we used paper plates to make the rims and  hot glued them to the car! Then painted the black around the plates to make the tires (you can always do that before you put the plates on)!

Then We used foil to put inside the plates to make the car have shiney rims!

We then covered up some cups with foil to make the headlights in the front!
Then used foil to make bumpers(to add character to the car)

Used white paint to make Lucas' License plate and blue paint to put Lucas' name on the back!
Foil to finish the look! Hand painted the lights!

Lucas collected bottle tops to use inside of his car!
We used a plate for his stirring wheel and poked a hole into the plate and into the dash board and put a pipe cleaner through the hole and tied a not on the other side of the dash board so the wheel can spin around! Then glued a pasta sauce cover over it to make a horn!
We also used wrapping paper on the inside of the car for the upholstery! Red construction paper for the doors! Then the last touch for the car was adding  a pillow for your seat (comfort)!

Yes a lot of work! But so worth it, in the end once you see how excited Lucas and his friends were to see it! Even our dogs loved it!

They had so much fun in it!

Chomper is going in for a ride!

They had way too much fun in there!

Now remember, while you make one of these beauties be sure to have fun with your little guy or gal! It is a fun family project you can do together.  I had a lot of fun making it with Lucas! I am so glad he enjoyed it as much as I did! I love my boys!
